A Jetty is Handy

I love the water so swim around in my dam on hot days. To avoid damaging the dam edge and getting stuck in the mud I have built a small jetty from reclaimed hardwood beams, hardwood fence palings and some olive barrels. The posts are reclaimed railway sleepers secured into the ground 600mm deep with rammed earth to support them.

The two sections of platform are attached by large bolts and will pivot as the water level changes, so the whole structure will follow the water. Lets hope it never reaches the dam floor.
